Recently, I heard a story in the news which really made me a bit upset. It seems, a woman was shopping, at a local Kroger's store, this lady was the mother of ten children. When the lady got to the cashier's line she was told, they would not accept her coupons because she was a habitual coupon user. The lady shopped there on a regular bases and always used a lot of coupons. I guess, Kroger's felt, she got too many things for free or almost free thus, Kroger's wasn't making enough money from her purchases.
As a former cashier I was always told, if a customer had a valid coupon, you took it furthermore, you took as many valid coupons as the customer could use. When I was a cashier, we were told to do whatever we could, to satisfy the customer. As a cashier, I was always told, if I took care of the customer, then, the store's profit, would take care of itself. Speaking only for myself, I can't blame this woman. If I had ten children, I would use every valid, coupon, I could find! Since Kroger's finds this woman's use of a lot of coupons too much of a habit then, perhaps, this woman should start a new habit and shop somewhere else. I would also make it a habit, to never shop at Kroger's again, and I would make it a habit, to spread the word to all my friends and tell them, just how Kroger's had treated me. Who knows, maybe then, Kroger's would reconsider their attitude, and thus, change their habits! As always, my friends, these thoughts remain, just some words, to think on.,
