Roberts Follows The Thinking Of Pontius Pilate.

There is no question that many conservatives in this country right now feel  betrayed by Chief Justice John Roberts. Although some conservatives, may not consider Chief Justice Roberts a Judas of sorts because he changed his mind on Obama's health care law, I think Roberts,  decision sounds very much like the thinking of Pontius Pilate as he was faced  with the task of deciding if he should crucify Jesus. Christians will remember that Pontius Pilate served as a kind of governor of Judea from AD 36-26. Pilate, had already questioned Jesus, and Pilate had been warned by his wife to let Jesus go for she told him,"Have nothing to do with this man." Pilate really wanted to let Jesus Go. He offered the people a choice between Jesus or Barabbas. Piate, thought he was in the clear since he had told the people that he had found no fault  in Jesus. Pilate believed Jesus was a just man and had done nothing worthy of death. the people however chose Barabbas, and Pilate, was once again faced with what to do with Jesus. He tried to reason with the people but they said if Pilate were to let Jesus go then he would be no friend of Cesar's. Pilate wanted to advance his political career and if he wanted to do that he couldn't be seen as an enemy of Cesar. Pilate then called for a basin of water and washed his hands and proclaimed that he was now free of the blood of the innocent Jesus. Pilate then turned Jesus over to the people saying'"Do with him what seemeth good to you." and the Jews thought it good  to crucify Jesus.
Consider now, the decision that was put before Chief Justice Roberts. He had planned, to vote to over turn the health care law and conservatives were counting on him and the other conservative judges on the court to do just that. Roberts, however had his legacy to think of and he valued the opinion of the media as far as how the media and much of the public viewed his court. Roberts, decided he wanted nothing to do with over turning a sitting president's main accomplishment. With this in mind he stated that the commerce clause was misused but that the health care law itself was constitutional because  government is granted the right to tax in the constitution. This logic gives judge Roberts what he reasons as the best of both worlds. He doesn't have to overturn the health care mandate and because he finds the health care law to be constitutional he can leave   the fate of the law to the will of the American people leaving justice Roberts free to wash his hands of his responsibility as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. This then I feel is the judicial act of a supreme coward!
Obama's health care law now rest in the hands of the American people Justice Roberts, has all but abandoned justice and has told the American people to do with Obama's health care law that which seemeth good to them. I guess Novembers election will once and for all express the will of the American people regarding Obama's health care law.
You know,  at times, I wonder what will happen if God,  decides to remove his hand of blessing from America, and turns America over to her own devices. Maybe God will say to America I wash my hands of you as a nation run your country in a way that seems best to you but I'll have no part of it any more. I know from studying history no nation last very long once God decides a nation has served his purpose. I pray God will still see a purpose for America,  to remain a free and independent nation. As always, my friends, these thoughts remain, just, some words, to think on.
